Learn how to use Epidemic Sound’s next-generation soundtracking flow, Studio.
What is Studio?
Studio is the world’s fastest soundtracking flow, turning your rough cuts into rights-safe, professionally synced soundtrack drafts in no time. Review, refine, and realize your project, your way.
Studio uses the speed of AI to ignite your creative spark, drawing from Epidemic Sound’s catalog of more than 55,000 world-class tracks and 250,000 Hollywood-grade sound effects. All made by real artists. All cleared for use in your content and productions.
Studio is available in your Epidemic Sound account. For even smoother soundtracking, access Studio directly in Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve Studio with Epidemic Sound’s plugins. To use Studio and all the latest features, update your plugin for Adobe or DaVinci Resolve Studio.
What does Studio do?
Studio takes your video and creates a synced soundtrack draft, matching music and sound effects to every frame. From there, you can solo, mute, delete, move, and trim individual audio clips, tailoring the draft to suit your project.
For professionals, it’s a rights-safe workflow that supercharges your inspiration, iteration, and collaboration. For creators new to the soundtracking process, it’s an intuitive flow that empowers you to add music and sound effects to your video.

- Log in to your Epidemic Sound account on the web.
- Navigate to the “Studio” tab in the main navigation. Click it to open Studio.
2. Choose your video
- Click the “Upload video” button.
- Select your video file. Supported formats include MP4, MOV, and WebM. Maximum file sizes for Studio are 600MB or four minutes in length.

- Want to get a feel for Studio first? Select one of the sample videos.

3. Review the soundtrack draft
-
Studio scans your video to understand the mood, pacing, and specific actions. You’ll receive a multi-layered, fully synced timeline featuring:
- Music, to match your video’s vibe.
- Ambient sounds, to create environmental layers. For example, wind and birds for a calm forest, or humming and typing for an office.
- Sound effects, synced to specific visual cues. For example, footsteps to accompany a person walking, or trickling water from a leaky faucet.
-
Press “Play” to hear the full soundtrack in sync with your video.
-
Solo and mute lanes with the “S” (Solo) and “M” (Mute) buttons to isolate playback for specific tracks and sound effects.
-
If your project features a lot of clips, you can zoom in on the timeline. Drag the scroller next to the magnifying glass icon to zoom in and out.

4. Fine-tune suggestions and edit the timeline
- Swap sounds: Don’t like a specific sound? Click the audio clip to see a list of nine other suggestions. Choose any alternative to instantly swap it into your timeline.
- Change individual sounds’ volume: Use the volume slider on any selected audio clip to find the perfect balance between sounds. You can also fade sounds in and out.
- Delete sound: If you don’t want a specific track or sound effect, select the audio clip and click the trash icon to remove it from your Studio timeline.

5. Adjust the placement and length of sounds
- Adjust length: Click and drag the edges of any audio clip to shorten or extend it.
- Move clips: Click and drag audio clips along the timeline to sync them with different transitions or cuts.

6. Export your project
- Quick export: Click the “Download” button, then choose between WAV and MP3 as your preferred file format. This downloads all the individual audio clips used in your Studio project.
- One-file export options: Download your soundtrack into one single file, either with the video and audio together, or just the audio.
- Advanced export: Click “Include Timeline Data” to download your Studio project as an XML file, preserving the timeline data and placement. Import the XML into your non-linear editing software and pick up where you left off — all the clips are synced. Visit the Epidemic Sound Help Center for more details on how to import your Studio projects to Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Final Cut Pro.

Why use Studio?
Studio is not a music browser, nor does it produce generic AI output. Studio uses the power of AI to soundtrack your work with real music and sound effects made by real artists.
Like every AI feature in the Epidemic Sound toolkit, Studio was developed in collaboration with our community of artists and creators. These tools were built to empower human creativity, not replace it.
